Printing by Hand is a craft book that teaches the three primary methods for creating your own printing devices and printing by hand: stamping (both rubber and make-your-own-stamping), stencilling, and screen printing. It also gives step-by-step instructions for approximately 20 projects, including stamping stationery, fabric pouches and wrapping paper; stencilling canvas shoes and bags, furniture, and wallpaper; and screen-printing bed linens, dog beds and upholstery fabric. For each project, the author has created and included an original pattern design so that every crafter can achieve the same beautiful results shown in the book, the original pattern designs are included on full-size pattern sheets in an envelope in the back of the book. In addition to the projects, each chapter includes an extensive how-to section to accompany each technique, as well as valuable advice for creating one's own artwork, enabling Printing by Hand to act as a valuable reference for the crafter who wishes to experiment further within the medium.
